由紐約的建筑事務所Weiss / Manfredi開發設計的俄亥俄州東北部肯特州立大學的建筑和環境設計中心目前正在施工當中。該項目名為“design loft”，它將大學的許多功能設計到同一個空間，合并以前不同的項目。據估計，該項目有107000平方英尺，需要2年時間施工，預計2016年完工。該建筑位于校園和城市中心之間，地理位置十分重要，旨在建設一個充滿活力和動力的創造中心。一樓有一個連續的走廊開向步行道。二樓遞增的空間可以用來舉辦一系列的賽事和活動。建筑事務所在建筑的中心賦予最大的靈活性以適應不斷發展的教學方式。譯者：蟈蟈 Construction is underway in northeast ohio at the site of kent state university‘s new center for architecture and environmental design. developed by new york-based practice weiss / manfredi, the ‘design loft’ will bring the college’s numerous functions under one roof, consolidating previously disparate programs. It is estimated that the vast 107,000 square foot project will take two years to conclude, with a targeted completion date set for 2016.Strategically positioned between the campus and the city core, the building is envisioned as an energetic and dynamic creative hub. At ground floor level a continuous gallery opens out onto an external esplanade, while above, an ascending series of spaces offers potential for a range of events and uses. At the center of the design, studios are configured to maximize flexibility and accommodate evolving methods of education.
